An O-ring is a circular seal that sits in a groove between two mating surfaces. When the joint is tightened, the ring compresses and fills any microscopic gaps, blocking water, steam or detergent from leaking out. In professional dishwashers and coffee machines the O-ring keeps the wash cycle sealed, preventing pressure loss and ensuring the correct temperature and spray pattern reach every item in the rack.

To replace the O-ring, the operator opens the appliance door or removes the panel that covers the joint. The old ring is lifted out of its groove and the new one is pressed into place, making sure it lies flat and is not twisted. Once the surfaces are cleaned and dried, the joint is reassembled and tightened. The seal is immediately ready for use.

The LF O-ring O3050 is made from EPDM, a synthetic rubber that resists hot water, detergents and steam. This material remains flexible across the temperature range of a commercial wash cycle, so the seal does not harden or crack over time.
