A non-return valve prevents water from flowing back into the supply line once it has passed through the dishwasher. Inside the valve, a small ball or disc is pushed open by incoming water pressure, allowing the cycle to fill the machine. When the pump stops, the ball falls back onto its seat, sealing the outlet and stopping any contaminated water from returning to the mains. This one-way action protects the kitchen's water supply from cross-contamination and keeps detergent and food residues out of the plumbing system.
The operator does not interact with the valve directly; it is installed inline on the water inlet pipe behind the dishwasher. After the machine is plumbed in, the valve works automatically every time the dishwasher calls for water. No adjustment or maintenance setting is required—it simply opens and closes with each fill cycle.
This LF valve is a compact cylindrical unit measuring 40 mm in diameter. It uses a ballcock mechanism and has two outlets of 12 mm each. The body is made of materials chosen for resistance to hot water and detergents, ensuring long-term reliability in a busy commercial environment.
The 40 mm diameter matches the standard inlet pipe size on the listed dishwashers, allowing a straightforward push-fit or threaded connection. The two 12 mm outlets can be linked to separate rinse or detergent lines if the machine design requires it.
Cleaning is minimal: if the valve becomes clogged with scale or debris, it can be removed and flushed under running water. No disassembly is needed; the ballcock mechanism is self-cleaning during normal operation.
The valve fits over 600 models across 22 professional catering brands, including ANGELO PO, ARISTARCO, COMENDA, DESCO, DIHR, ELFRAMO, EMMEPI, FAGOR, HOONVED, JEMI, KOMEL, LAMBER, LUXIA, MACH, MBM, SAMMIC, SILANOS, UNIVERBAR, WHIRLPOOL and ZANUSSI.
