A microswitch controls the critical moments in an icemaker's cycle: when the water valve opens, the harvest heater energises, or the bin signals full. The LF bär XGH2-Z1 is a snap-action switch that closes or opens a circuit the instant its actuator is pressed. Inside, a spring-loaded lever flips a contact block between normally open and normally closed positions, sending a clean electrical signal without arcing or bounce. This snap action is what lets the icemaker sequence its fill, freeze and harvest steps precisely, preventing overfilling or incomplete harvests.

To use the switch, the operator first isolates the icemaker from the mains. The old switch is unclipped from its mounting bracket and the three spade terminals are disconnected. The new XGH2-Z1 is positioned so its actuator aligns with the cam or lever that triggers it during the ice cycle. The terminals are reconnected—common, normally open and normally closed—and the switch is clipped back into place. Once power is restored, the icemaker's control board will receive the switch's signals at the exact points in the cycle where the actuator is depressed, ensuring the correct sequence of water fill, freezing and ice release.

The switch body is moulded from heat-resistant phenolic resin, and the contacts are silver-plated copper alloy rated for 12 A at 250 V AC in the normally open position and 6 A in the normally closed position. A dust-proof cover protects the internal mechanism, and the actuator is a stainless-steel lever that withstands repeated operation in a cold, humid environment.

The 250 V rating means the switch can be wired directly into the icemaker's mains circuit without an intermediate relay, simplifying installation. The 1NO+1NC configuration provides two independent signal paths: one to confirm a step has been reached, the other to initiate the next step in the cycle. The phenolic body and stainless-steel actuator resist corrosion and thermal shock, reducing the risk of premature failure in a refrigerated cabinet.

Cleaning is limited to wiping the actuator and body with a dry cloth; solvents or water must not enter the contact chamber. The switch is a single version with no variants, and it is listed in the catalogue under icemaker spare parts for control and safety components.
