This knockbox provides a sturdy container for spent espresso pucks and loose coffee grounds. Positioned on the worktop near the grinder or espresso machine, it features a sloped front and a rubberised knock bar. The barista can tap the portafilter rim against the bar to dislodge the puck without harming the basket or scratching surfaces.

The design allows the barista to invert the portafilter over the knock bar and tap it firmly. The puck falls into the box, while the rubber bar cushions the impact, protecting both the portafilter and the counter. The box holds enough grounds for a full morning's service before needing to be emptied.

To operate, place the knockbox on a stable worktop within reach of the espresso station. After each shot, invert the portafilter over the knock bar and tap. The puck and loose grounds drop into the box. Once full, lift the box and dispose of the contents in the waste or compost bin.

The knockbox is made from a single moulded black plastic body, selected for its visibility and resistance to stains. A rubber strip is bonded to the front edge, providing a wide surface for the portafilter rim. There are no moving parts or electrical components, so the unit is ready for immediate use.
