An induction hob transfers energy directly into the base of a ferrous pan, heating the food without heating the surface. A high-frequency electromagnetic field induces eddy currents in the pan, turning it into the heating element. The ceramic glass stays cool to the touch, reducing the risk of burns and making spills easier to clean. Because the heat is generated in the pan itself, the process is faster and more responsive than a gas or radiant electric hob, and energy is not wasted heating the air or the surrounding worktop.
The 500 SEMI PRO induction stove is built as a single unit with a generator box housed beneath the glass. Place a compatible pan on the marked zone; the hob detects its size and activates only the area under the pan. Set the power level with the stainless-steel knobs: the left knob controls the left zone, the right knob the right zone. Each zone can be switched to boost mode for rapid heating, then returned to a lower setting for simmering or holding. The defrost function maintains a constant 44 °C, the simmer function 94 °C, and the keep-warm function 70 °C, so the same hob can thaw, cook and hold without manual adjustment.
The hob is constructed on a 6 mm ceramic glass surface that distributes heat evenly and resists thermal shock. The control panel is integrated under the glass, protected from spills and splashes. Stainless-steel knobs are positioned at the front for easy access during operation. The unit measures 700 mm wide, 700 mm deep and 900 mm high, with a usable glass area of 560 mm by 500 mm.
Nominal power is 2.1 kW, rising to 3.5 kW per zone in boost mode. The hob requires a 380 V three-phase supply, which is standard in professional kitchens for high-power appliances. The weight of the unit ensures stability on the worktop, while the compact footprint allows it to fit into most kitchen layouts without occupying excessive space.
Cleaning is straightforward: the smooth ceramic surface can be wiped down with a damp cloth once it has cooled. The knobs can be removed for deeper cleaning if necessary. The hob is designed for a lifespan of 10,000 operating hours or two years of warranty, whichever comes first.
The 500 SEMI PRO is available with customisable options to meet specific kitchen requirements, though the standard configuration includes all core functions: automatic pot detection, boost, defrost, simmer and keep-warm modes.
