An indicator light shows the operator that power is reaching a circuit or that a heating element, motor or timer is active. It mounts in a small hole on the control panel and illuminates when the appliance is switched on, giving an instant visual signal without the need to check meters or listen for sounds.

The light is a simple bulb or LED sealed in a transparent or coloured cap. When voltage is applied, the filament or diode glows, and the cap diffuses the light so it is clearly visible across the kitchen. A green light typically signals that the appliance is ready to use, while other colours may indicate warming, cooking or an error state.

To fit the indicator, the operator drills or punches a hole of the stated diameter in the panel, inserts the light from the front, and secures it with a nut or clip from behind. The two wires are then connected to the appropriate terminals on the appliance's control board. Once wired, the light will illuminate whenever the circuit it is connected to is live.

This LF indicator is built with a green cap measuring 13.5 mm in diameter and is designed to fit a 10 mm mounting hole. It operates on a 230 V supply, matching the standard voltage used in British commercial kitchens. The unit is rated for temperatures up to 120 °C, allowing it to be installed close to heating elements without damage.
