An ignition plug creates the spark that lights the gas in professional catering appliances. When the operator opens the gas valve, a small electric current flows through the plug. The current jumps across a gap at the tip, producing a spark hot enough to ignite the gas. This method removes the need for a standing pilot light, reducing gas consumption and eliminating the risk of a flame blowing out during service.
The operator fits the plug into the appliance's burner assembly. A single push or turn of the control knob sends current to the plug, generating the spark. Once the gas ignites, the flame sensor detects heat and keeps the gas flowing. If the flame fails, the sensor cuts the gas supply automatically, preventing unburned gas from accumulating.
This LF ignition plug is constructed as a single cylindrical unit with a threaded body and a ceramic insulator. The M4x1 mm faston connector at the rear accepts the appliance's wiring harness. Its dimensions of 7 mm diameter and 44 mm length match the mounting points on the listed models.
The plug's ceramic insulator withstands the heat of the burner while preventing current from leaking to the appliance body. The threaded body locks the plug in place, ensuring the spark gap stays correctly aligned with the gas outlet.
To maintain reliable ignition, the plug should be checked periodically for carbon deposits on the tip. A soft brush removes any build-up without damaging the electrode. The faston connector should be inspected for corrosion and replaced if the connection feels loose.
This ignition plug fits gas appliances from AMBACH, ANGELO PO, ASTORIA CMA, BERTO'S, COVEN, ELFRAMO, EMMEPI, FAGOR, GICO, GIORIK, KOMEL, MARENO, MBM, MODULAR, OFFCAR, SILKO, SOLYMAC, TECNOINOX and ZANUSSI. The catalogue groups it under ignition components for professional catering equipment.
