An ice storage tank keeps bulk ice at serving temperature until it is needed, preventing clumping and waste. Cold air from the ice machine enters the insulated chamber and is held by a sealed, high-density foam layer that slows heat transfer. The ice remains loose and ready to portion without refreezing or sticking together, so service stays fast even during peak demand.

The operator loads the tank directly from the ice machine chute, then closes the top panel to seal the chamber. When ice is required, the plastic door swings open and a scoop or dispenser removes the exact amount. The door is designed to withstand repeated opening and closing without cracking or warping, so it stays secure and easy to use throughout long shifts.

The ST SD 1000 is built entirely of stainless steel for hygiene and durability. The interior and exterior surfaces are smooth, non-porous and resistant to corrosion, so they can be cleaned quickly with standard kitchen sanitising solutions. The insulation is high-density polyurethane foam injected between the inner and outer steel walls, forming a continuous barrier that keeps the cold in and the heat out.

A single top closing panel seals the chamber when the tank is full. The controls are minimal: the door latch and the panel lock are the only moving parts, so there is little to adjust or maintain.

The 1060 kg capacity means the tank can hold a full day's ice production from compatible machines without overfilling. The 212 kg weight allows two staff to move the tank with a standard sack trolley, while the 1880 mm length, 1525 mm width and 1450 mm height footprint fits through standard kitchen doorways and under most worktop overhangs. The tank is designed to sit on the floor, freeing up counter space for other tasks.

The tank is supplied with a top closing panel as standard. It is compatible with Kastel SPS 600, SPS 1000 and SPS 1500 ice machines, matching their output and dimensions for seamless integration.

Cleaning is straightforward: the stainless steel surfaces are wiped down with a sanitising cloth, and the plastic door is removed for deeper cleaning if needed. The polyurethane insulation does not absorb moisture or odours, so it does not require special treatment.
