The KP series ice makers are made entirely of stainless steel. They are top-class units within the Kastel range, equipped with the latest technology to ensure maximum efficiency and long-lasting performance.
Cooling system - water or air
Full ice cube 18 gr (33×30 mm)
An ice maker that produces dense, slow-melting cubes continuously for bars, restaurants and events. The machine freezes water in a closed evaporator mould, releasing each cube only when it is fully formed. This method gives cubes that hold their shape in drinks and keep beverages chilled without rapid dilution, essential for presentation and taste.
The operator fills the internal reservoir with water, selects the cycle on the electronic control panel and starts the machine. Each cycle yields 108 cubes, which drop into the 70 kg storage container beneath. The container remains cold, preserving the ice until it is needed. When the container is full, the machine pauses production until some ice is removed, preventing overflow and waste.
The KP 140/70 is built with a stainless-steel exterior and a refrigerant circuit charged with R290, a hydrocarbon that cools efficiently while minimising environmental impact. The electronic control system governs the freezing cycle, defrosting and water flow, ensuring consistent cube size and density. A water-cooling system is available as an option for environments where ambient temperatures or high usage could otherwise reduce performance.
The 1.1 kW power rating indicates the load the machine places on the electrical supply, suitable for a standard 230 V single-phase circuit found in most professional kitchens. The 96 kg weight requires a stable worktop or floor position, and the 840 mm width, 760 mm depth and 985 mm height determine the space it occupies, fitting beneath standard worktop heights or standing alone where space allows.
Cleaning involves emptying the container, wiping the interior surfaces with a mild sanitiser and rinsing the water reservoir to prevent mineral build-up. The exterior is wiped with a damp cloth to remove dust and spills. Regular maintenance of the water filter and evaporator mould ensures the cubes remain clear and free of impurities.
A water-cooled variant is offered for locations with higher ambient temperatures or continuous heavy use. The catalogue places this model in the professional ice-making section, alongside units scaled for smaller bars and larger hotels.
