Stainless steel surface. Well suited for fresh bread and pastries
A heated hotplate maintains food at serving temperature without further cooking. The stainless steel surface is warmed by an electric element beneath, spreading heat evenly across the entire area. A thermostat cycles the element on and off to hold the set temperature, preventing scorching while keeping dishes ready for service. The transparent Plexiglas lid traps warmth and shields the contents from airborne particles, allowing staff to check the food without lifting the cover.
To use the hotplate, place the filled serving dishes on the stainless steel surface and close the lid. Set the thermostat dial to the desired temperature between 30 °C and 90 °C. The indicator light shows when the element is active. Once the temperature stabilises, the unit will maintain it until switched off. Remove dishes as needed, keeping the lid closed between servings to preserve heat.
The hotplate is built from AISI 304 stainless steel for the warming surface and frame, chosen for corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning. The Plexiglas lid is lightweight and shatter-resistant, providing visibility without adding significant weight. The adjustable thermostat controls the heating element, allowing precise temperature selection within the 30–90 °C range.
The 0.6 kW power rating means the unit draws a modest load, suitable for a standard 220–240 V circuit found in most professional kitchens. The 1000 mm length provides ample space for multiple serving dishes, while the 500 mm width fits neatly on a worktop or counter. The 300 mm height allows the hotplate to slide beneath standard overhead shelves or cupboards when not in use.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surface with a damp cloth after each service, ensuring no food debris remains. The Plexiglas lid can be removed and cleaned separately with a mild detergent. Regular inspection of the thermostat dial ensures smooth operation, and the stainless steel frame requires no additional maintenance beyond routine wiping.
The FORCAR PCC4730 is categorised under heated holding equipment in the professional catering catalogue.
