An induction hob that generates heat directly in the base of the pan, cutting pre-heat time and giving instant temperature control. The electromagnetic field beneath the ceramic surface creates the heat only where the pan sits, so the hob itself stays cooler and energy is not wasted on empty space.
The HOI60F1FLEX features a Flex zone that merges three standard zones into one large, continuous cooking area. This allows a single oversized pan, griddle or fish kettle to be used, or several smaller pans to be placed side by side without fixed boundaries. Each section of the Flex zone can still be controlled independently, so different dishes can be cooked at once with their own power settings.
To start, place a pan with a magnetic base on any zone. The hob detects the pan and illuminates the corresponding control area. A slider adjusts power in nine steps; the same slider is used for the timer, which can be set up to 99 minutes and will switch the zone off automatically when the time elapses. A Power Boost function temporarily increases output for rapid boiling or searing, then reverts to the previous setting after ten minutes.
The ceramic surface is a single sheet of toughened glass, 590 mm wide and 520 mm deep, with a total depth of 62 mm including the trim. The hob weighs 8 kg, light enough to lift onto a worktop or into a cupboard when not in use. The electrical connection requires either a single-phase 230 V or a three-phase 400 V supply at 50 Hz, matching the circuits found in most professional kitchens.
Controls are touch-sensitive sliders and buttons set flush with the surface. Each zone has its own slider for power and timer, plus a lock button to prevent accidental operation. When a pan is removed, the zone switches off automatically; the child-safety lock can be engaged to disable all controls until deliberately released.
Cleaning is limited to the ceramic surface and the trim. The glass can be wiped with a damp cloth once cool; no burn-on occurs because the surface itself does not get hot. The trim is stainless steel and can be cleaned with a mild detergent. No internal parts are accessible for cleaning, and no routine maintenance is required beyond keeping the surface free of debris that could interfere with pan detection.
The HOI60F1FLEX is a built-in hob designed for installation into a worktop cut-out. It is part of the Scandomestic HOME range of professional-grade equipment for commercial kitchens.
