8 GN 1/1
A mobile rack designed to organise and transport gastronorm trays in a busy kitchen. The trolley holds each tray on C-shaped rails that prevent slippage while allowing quick insertion and removal. Four swivel castors let the unit glide across floors without marking, so it can be moved between prep areas, ovens and refrigerators without lifting or transferring contents.
The trolley's frame is built from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of sanitising. Each rail is shaped to cradle the edges of GN 1/1 trays, keeping them level and stable during transit. The unit stands on four non-marking castors; two of these can be fitted with brakes to lock the trolley in place when needed, preventing unwanted movement during loading or unloading.
To use the trolley, slide each GN 1/1 tray into the C-shaped guides until it rests securely. The trays stack vertically, so the operator can load from the top down or remove from any level without disturbing the others. Once loaded, the trolley is pushed to its destination; if brakes are fitted, they are engaged to hold the unit steady while trays are added or taken off.
The construction is entirely stainless steel, ensuring durability and compliance with hygiene standards. The frame's open design allows air to circulate around the trays, helping to maintain consistent temperatures for hot or cold items. Four bumpers protect walls and door frames from scuffs during transit.
Controls are limited to the optional brake pedals, which the operator presses to lock the trolley in position. No electrical supply or programming is required.
The stated capacity of eight GN 1/1 trays matches the standard tray size used across professional kitchens, allowing the trolley to integrate with existing equipment. Its footprint of 607 mm by 452 mm fits through standard doorways and alongside worktops, while the height of 894 mm keeps trays within easy reach. The weight of 13 kg makes the unit light enough for one person to manoeuvre when empty, yet stable when fully loaded.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel frame and rails with a damp cloth and sanitiser. The open structure means no hidden corners where debris can collect, and the non-marking castors can be cleaned without removing them. If brakes are fitted, the pedals are checked periodically to ensure they engage smoothly.
An optional modification allows two of the castors to be supplied with brake kits, adding stability where the trolley is used on sloped floors or in high-traffic areas. The trolley is categorised under mobile storage and transport equipment for gastronorm trays.
