8 stainless steel tubular spits 12 x 12 mm, 960 mm
A vertical gas chicken grill rotates whole birds or joints on stainless steel spits above a gas flame, circulating the meat through radiant heat. The flame chars the skin evenly while the slow rotation bastes the meat in its own juices, producing crisp, golden results without drying the interior. This method suits small to medium-scale production where consistent texture and flavour are essential, and the compact footprint fits tight kitchen layouts.
The operator loads up to eight spits with prepared birds, secures each one with the supplied forks, and slides the spits onto the motorised carriage. Each spit is switched on independently, allowing different items to cook at once. The Low-E tempered glass door is closed to retain heat and protect the kitchen from splatter. Once the gas supply is opened and the burners lit, the motor turns the spits at a steady speed while the flame maintains the set temperature. The interior light lets staff monitor progress without opening the door, and the removable fat collection bucket catches drippings for easy disposal.
The frame is built from ribbed and reinforced stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress under daily use. A Low-E tempered glass door withstands repeated heating and cooling cycles while offering a clear view of the cooking chamber. Eight tubular stainless steel spits, 12 mm square and 960 mm long, support the load without bending, and a 230 V motor drives the carriage quietly and reliably.
The 28 kW gas input provides the heat output needed for continuous service in a small to medium kitchen, while the 230 V electrical connection matches standard UK commercial circuits. The footprint of 1121 mm by 391 mm fits against a wall or between worktops, and the 1556 mm height allows clearance beneath standard extractor canopies.
Cleaning follows the materials and construction. The stainless steel frame and spits are wiped down with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each service. The Low-E glass door is cleaned with a non-abrasive glass cleaner to preserve visibility. The removable fat collection bucket is emptied and washed daily, and the interior light cover is checked for grease build-up to maintain brightness.
The Elangrill 48P-ELBA is a gas-powered vertical chicken grill from the Elba series, designed for small and medium-scale production.
