6 spits, 960 mm; Multigas burner with safety valve
A vertical gas chicken grill cooks poultry evenly by rotating spits over an open flame, exposing every surface to consistent heat. The flame heats the air inside the chamber, while the rotation ensures no part of the bird remains in one position long enough to dry out or burn. Independent control of each spit allows different cuts or sizes to cook at their own pace without overcrowding or uneven results. The grill's enclosed design traps heat and moisture, reducing fuel use and keeping the kitchen cooler than an open rotisserie would.
To operate the 36P-ELBA, the operator loads each spit with poultry, securing the birds between the prongs. The door is closed and the gas supply opened. Each spit motor is switched on individually, setting the rotation speed. The flame is lit and adjusted to maintain the desired temperature, monitored through the tempered glass door. Once cooking is complete, the flame is turned off, the door opened, and the spits stopped. The cooked poultry is removed, and the next batch loaded without waiting for the chamber to cool.
The grill is built from ribbed and reinforced stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and high temperatures. The Low-E tempered glass door withstands thermal shock and provides a clear view of the cooking process. Two tubular stainless steel spits, each 543 mm long with a 12x12 mm cross-section, rotate independently via 230 V motors. A removable fat collection bucket beneath the chamber catches drippings, simplifying cleaning and reducing flare-ups. Interior lighting improves visibility and adds a professional finish to the unit.
The 14 kW power rating indicates the gas load the grill places on the supply, requiring a dedicated line capable of handling the demand without pressure drops. The 230 V electrical requirement is for the spit motors and lighting, plugging into a standard single-phase circuit. The footprint of 1211 x 666 mm fits into a compact worktop space, while the 735 mm height allows the operator to load and unload without stooping. The 960 mm spit length accommodates six splits, enabling simultaneous cooking of multiple birds.
Cleaning involves removing the fat collection bucket and emptying it after each service. The stainless steel interior and spits are wiped down with a damp cloth and mild detergent, avoiding abrasive pads that could scratch the surface. The tempered glass door is cleaned with a glass-safe cleaner to maintain visibility. The motors and gas components require no daily maintenance but should be inspected periodically for wear or leaks.
The Grill Plus system allows the discs to stop while the spit continues rotating, making it easier to load or remove poultry without stopping the entire unit. The Elba series is designed for small to medium-scale production, balancing capacity with a compact footprint.
The 36P-ELBA is categorised under gas chicken grills in the professional catering equipment catalogue.
