2 GN 1/1
A carving station that keeps dishes at serving temperature without drying them out relies on infrared radiation. The HELIOS 2/1 PASS FIX P2 heating plate uses two infrared lamps to direct heat downward onto the warming surface. Unlike convection or contact heat, infrared warms the food directly by penetrating the surface, so the texture and moisture stay intact while the temperature is maintained. The lamps are housed in a modern chromed shade that focuses the heat and reduces glare for the operator.
The unit is built around a GN 2/1 stainless steel warming plate. A mechanical thermostat, adjustable from +30 °C to +90 °C, controls the plate temperature, while an indicator light shows when power is on. Each infrared lamp has its own switch, allowing the operator to use one or both lamps depending on the heat required. An acrylic glass sneezeguard with a service opening protects the food from airborne particles and speeds up distribution to customers.
Operation begins by placing the food on the warming plate and setting the thermostat to the desired temperature. The indicator light confirms power to the plate. The infrared lamps are then switched on, either together or separately, to add radiant heat from above. The acrylic sneezeguard remains in place throughout service, with the opening used to serve portions without removing the guard. When service ends, the lamps and thermostat are turned off, and the plate is allowed to cool before cleaning.
The frame and warming plate are made of AISI 304 stainless steel, with chromed lamp shades. The acrylic sneezeguard is removable for cleaning. The unit measures 660 mm wide, 625 mm deep and 750 mm high, and weighs 25 kg, making it stable on a worktop or counter. It runs on a 230 V, 50 Hz single-phase supply, drawing 1.25 kW, which is typical for a dedicated kitchen circuit.
The warming plate can be ordered with alternative surface materials: porcelain stoneware in lava or oxide finish, both in GN 1/1 size. Infrared lamps are available in white or red. A UK plug can be specified, and the red lamp variant is offered as an option. The product is categorised as a heating plate for carving and holding stations in professional catering.
