2 GN 1/1
A carving station that keeps dishes at serving temperature without drying them out relies on infrared heat. The ROCAM HELIOS 2/1 PASS FLEX P1 heating plate uses two flexible infrared lamps to direct warmth onto the food below. Infrared radiation heats the surface of the dish rather than the surrounding air, so the meat or vegetables stay moist while the temperature remains steady. The lamps are mounted on flexible tubes, allowing the operator to angle the heat exactly where it is needed across the GN 2/1 tray. The warming plate beneath the tray has its own mechanical thermostat, adjustable between +30 °C and +90 °C, and an indicator light that confirms the plate is active. Each infrared lamp is controlled by an independent switch, so the lamps can be used together or separately. An acrylic glass sneezeguard with a service opening protects the food from airborne particles while allowing quick distribution to customers. Operation begins by placing the GN 2/1 tray on the stainless steel warming plate and setting the thermostat to the desired temperature. The indicator light glows once the plate reaches the set point. The infrared lamps are then positioned above the food and switched on as needed. The flexible tubes let the operator adjust the height and angle of each lamp, concentrating heat on specific areas of the tray. When service is complete, the lamps and plate are switched off and allowed to cool before cleaning. The unit is constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel, with chromed accents on the lamp housings. The warming plate is available in three surface finishes: stainless steel, lava, or oxide porcelain stoneware, each offering a different level of heat retention and visual style. The infrared lamps are supplied as standard in white, with red lamps available as an optional upgrade. Controls include the mechanical thermostat for the warming plate, an indicator light for plate activity, and separate on-off switches for each infrared lamp. The 1.25 kW power rating reflects the combined load of the warming plate and both lamps, requiring a dedicated 230 V circuit in the kitchen. The 25 kg weight ensures stability on the worktop while still allowing the unit to be moved by two staff members when necessary. The footprint of 660 mm wide by 621 mm deep fits standard carving stations and countertop layouts. The brushed stainless steel warming surface and chrome accents shrug off kitchen splashes and steam, so a quick pass with a soft cloth restores the station's polished look between lunch and dinner service. The acrylic sneezeguard can be removed for thorough cleaning, and the infrared lamps should be dusted regularly to maintain efficiency. The porcelain stoneware plate cover, if fitted, can be lifted off for separate cleaning. Optional accessories include a porcelain stoneware covering for the warming plate in either lava or oxide finish, and a UK plug for direct connection. The HELIOS 2/1 PASS FLEX P1 is categorised as a heating plate within professional catering equipment, designed for carving stations and buffet service where consistent temperature and presentation are essential.
