with 4 lamps
A halogen bridge keeps food hot by infrared radiation from quartz lamps, spreading even heat without drying the surface. The lamps sit above the trays, warming the plates and the food they carry as they pass beneath. This method holds temperature without the hot air or steam that can soften pastry or overcook delicate sauces, making it a standard for plating lines in professional kitchens.
The operator loads up to four GN 1/1 gastronorm trays onto the bridge, each positioned under its own lamp. The switch on the front panel turns all four lamps on at once; there is no separate control for each lamp. The transparent sneezeguards in Plexiglas® shield the lamps while letting the operator watch the food. The top of the splashboard doubles as a work shelf, giving a flat surface for arranging plates before they enter the bridge.
The unit is built in AISI 304 stainless steel, a material chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of cleaning in a busy kitchen. The sneezuards lift away for wiping, and the lamps themselves can be replaced without tools. A spiral cable keeps the power lead tidy and away from the worktop.
A power rating of 0.92 kW means the bridge draws less than 4 A on a standard 230 V circuit, so it can share a ring with other low-power appliances without overloading the supply. The footprint of 1597 mm by 527 mm fits a plating counter or a pass-through shelf, while the 31 kg weight allows two staff to move it without a trolley. The 4 GN 1/1 capacity matches the standard tray size used across professional kitchens, so the bridge accepts the same racks and trolleys as the rest of the hot line.
Cleaning is limited to the parts the entry names: the stainless-steel body, the Plexiglas® sneezeguards and the lamps. The sneezeguards unclip for washing; the lamps are wiped with a dry cloth to avoid scratching the quartz. The operating shelf on the splashboard is wiped down after each service to keep it free of spills.
An optional white infrared lamp can be fitted in place of the standard halogen lamps, giving a cooler colour temperature that some kitchens prefer for display.
The catalogue places the HALO 4 in the hot-holding section, alongside other halogen and induction bridges for plating and pass-through use.
