A copper flat gasket creates a pressure-tight seal between the group head and the portafilter of an espresso machine. When the portafilter is locked into place, the gasket compresses slightly, preventing water and steam from escaping during extraction. Copper is chosen for its ability to withstand repeated heating and cooling cycles without hardening or cracking, ensuring a consistent seal over time.

To replace the gasket, the operator first removes the old one, cleans the seating surface on the group head, then positions the new gasket so it lies flat without twisting. Once seated, the portafilter is reattached and tightened to the correct torque, restoring the seal that keeps extraction pressure stable.

This gasket is a flat ring with an outer diameter of 14 mm, an inner diameter of 10 mm and a thickness of 1 mm. The dimensions match the seating groove on the group heads of the listed espresso machines, allowing it to sit flush and form an even seal across the entire contact area.

The gasket fits group heads on professional espresso machines from CASADIO, CIMBALI, FAEMA, LINEA and MARZOCCO, including specific models such as CIMBALI M100, M20 and M39-GT, FAEMA E61 JUBILE and EMBLEMA, and MARZOCCO FB80 and GS3.

Cleaning is limited to removing coffee residue from the seating surface before installation; the gasket itself is replaced rather than cleaned.
