An RC filter removes high-frequency electrical noise that can disrupt the precise timing and control circuits of a commercial ice maker. It combines a resistor and a capacitor in a single network; the resistor dissipates unwanted energy as heat while the capacitor smooths rapid voltage fluctuations. This stabilises the power supply to sensitive components, preventing erratic behaviour in compressors, pumps and electronic sensors.
The filter is installed in-line on the power or signal cable that feeds the ice maker's control board. It requires no adjustment or programming; once connected, it operates continuously, filtering noise from the moment the appliance is switched on. The cabled ends allow direct soldering or crimping into the existing wiring harness, ensuring a secure, low-resistance connection that does not degrade over time.
Construction consists of a small cylindrical body with two insulated leads. The body is potted to protect the internal resistor and capacitor from moisture, vibration and temperature swings common in a working kitchen. The leads are colour-coded for polarity where required, simplifying correct installation.
This filter fits a wide range of BREMA and EMMEPI ice makers, including models that produce flake, nugget or cube ice. It is listed in the catalogue under electrical components for refrigeration and ice production equipment.
