An evaporator is the component that removes heat from the water in an ice maker, turning it into solid ice. Inside the sealed refrigeration circuit, liquid refrigerant flows into the evaporator coils. As the water passes over these coils, the refrigerant absorbs heat and evaporates, cooling the water until it freezes into ice. This process relies on the evaporator's ability to transfer heat efficiently, ensuring consistent ice production without overloading the compressor.
The evaporator is installed within the ice maker's cabinet, connected to the refrigeration lines. Once the machine is powered on, the refrigerant cycle begins automatically, and the evaporator starts removing heat from the water reservoir. The operator monitors ice formation through the machine's controls, but the evaporator itself requires no manual adjustment during normal operation.
This LF evaporator is a direct replacement for ICE TECH models SK-25, SK-25-R290 (Rev.01), SS-25 and SS-25-R290 (Rev.01), as well as ITV models ALFA-NDP20, ALFA-NDP20-R290 (Rev.02) and NDP20. It is designed to fit the existing refrigeration circuit without modification, maintaining the original performance of the ice maker.
Regular inspection of the evaporator coils is recommended to ensure no frost build-up or debris obstructs heat transfer. If the ice maker's output declines, the evaporator may require cleaning or defrosting to restore efficiency. This part is listed under refrigeration spares for professional ice-making equipment.
