An electric pump rebo circulates water over the evaporator plate of a commercial ice maker. The pump draws water from the reservoir and sprays it evenly across the cold surface, where it freezes in layers to form clear, solid cubes or flakes. Without continuous circulation, the water would stagnate, freeze unevenly and produce cloudy or misshapen ice. The pump therefore maintains the flow that builds each batch of ice to the correct thickness and clarity.

To use the pump, the operator connects the inlet and outlet hoses to the corresponding ports on the ice maker's water circuit. Once the machine is switched on, the pump starts automatically with the ice-making cycle. It runs until the harvest phase begins, when the evaporator is heated to release the ice. The pump then stops, allowing the water to drain back into the reservoir before the next cycle starts.
