smooth grill surface
An electric grill heats a smooth, chrome-plated plate from below with embedded elements. The heat spreads evenly across the surface, allowing direct contact cooking without open flames. Because the plate is polished chrome, it reflects some of the heat back into the food while radiating less into the kitchen, keeping the workspace cooler and reducing energy waste. The absence of grates means there are no gaps for fat or debris to collect, so cleaning between batches is faster and cross-contamination of flavours is minimised. The operator lowers food directly onto the 650 by 570 mm heated plate. Two independent 4 kW circuits let one side be set hotter than the other, so different items can be cooked simultaneously without flavour transfer. A removable stainless-steel basin beneath the front edge catches up to 2 litres of rendered fat, which drains through a narrow gap between the plate and the rounded front edge. When a non-stick surface is needed, a Teflon cover can be fitted over the chrome and removed without tools. The grill is built as a single 700 mm wide unit with a 15 mm thick steel frame and rounded front corners. The cooking surface is 1 mm AISI 18/10 stainless steel, chrome-plated for durability and low heat dissipation. Controls are mounted on the front panel, allowing the operator to set each 4 kW circuit separately. An 8 kW load requires a 400 V three-phase circuit with neutral and earth, the standard supply for professional catering equipment. The 97 kg weight means the unit is moved on a trolley or with two people, and the 700 by 714 mm footprint fits a standard worktop or counter. The 850 mm height places the cooking surface at a comfortable working level for most chefs. After service, the chrome plate is wiped down with a damp cloth; the optional Teflon cover can be lifted off and washed separately. The stainless-steel fat basin slides out for emptying and cleaning. The smooth chrome plate slides out without tools so the stainless-steel drip tray can be emptied and wiped clean between services. The MAGISTRA PLUS 700 is available with either polished or hard chrome finish. An optional Teflon cover is offered for non-stick operation. This model is listed in the professional cooking section under electric grills.
