A professional and durable electric grill that ensures even heat distribution and easy cleaning. Equipped with safety features, it is ideal for professional kitchens.
A ribbed griddle sears food on raised ridges while allowing fat and juices to drain into the valleys between them. The electric element beneath the plate heats the metal, which then conducts the heat directly into the food. This direct conduction cooks quickly and leaves the characteristic char lines that seal in flavour and moisture. The ridges also lift the food away from the plate, reducing the risk of sticking and making it easier to turn or remove items without tearing them.
To use the griddle, the operator first sets the thermostat to the desired temperature between 100 °C and 240 °C. Once the plate reaches the set point, food is placed on the ribbed surface. The ridges concentrate the heat, creating the sear, while the valleys collect the rendered fat. A front grease channel directs the fat into a removable collection drawer, keeping the cooking area clean. A rear-mounted flue extracts steam and heat, reducing humidity and temperature in the kitchen. After cooking, the plate and splashguards are wiped down, and the grease drawer is emptied and cleaned.
The cooking surface is a 15 mm thick mild steel plate, chosen for its ability to hold and distribute heat evenly across the entire area. The plate is mounted on a frame of AISI 304 stainless steel, which resists corrosion and is easy to sanitise. Stainless steel splashguards on three sides contain grease and liquid, while cool-grip handles and knobs allow safe adjustment even when the unit is hot. The griddle is designed for countertop installation, with four sturdy legs that raise it to a comfortable working height without requiring additional support.
The 5.4 kW power rating indicates the load the griddle places on the electrical supply. In a professional kitchen, this requires a dedicated circuit to avoid overloading other equipment. The adjustable thermostat allows the operator to switch between delicate items like fish and robust items like steaks without changing appliances. The manual reset safety thermostat cuts power if the temperature exceeds the set limit, protecting both the food and the appliance.
Cleaning is straightforward because of the materials and construction. The stainless steel surfaces can be scrubbed with standard kitchen cleaners without risk of damage. The grease channel and drawer are designed to be removed and washed separately, preventing build-up that could affect performance or hygiene. The mild steel cooking plate should be wiped while still warm to remove residue, then seasoned periodically to maintain its non-stick properties.
The griddle measures 400 mm deep, 700 mm wide and 305 mm high, including the legs. This footprint fits on most standard worktops, leaving space for preparation and plating. The weight of the unit, though not specified, is sufficient to keep it stable during use, while the legs allow it to be moved with a trolley when necessary.
The product is categorised as a countertop electric griddle, suitable for restaurants, cafés and catering operations that require consistent, high-volume searing and grilling.
