1 stainless steel spit, 985 mm, with forks
A rotating spit grill drives heat evenly through large joints and whole carcasses by turning the meat continuously in front of electric elements. The motion bastes the surface in its own juices, sealing the exterior while the interior cooks through without drying out. Ceramic insulation keeps the heat inside the chamber, reducing energy waste and keeping the outer casing cool to the touch during long service.
The operator loads the meat onto the 985 mm stainless steel spit, securing it with the supplied forks so the cut remains centred and balanced. Once the grill is closed, the motor starts the rotation and the elements bring the chamber up to temperature. The Low-E glass panel lets staff monitor progress without opening the door and losing heat. A removable fat collection tray beneath the spit catches drippings, preventing flare-ups and simplifying post-service cleaning.
The construction is ribbed and reinforced stainless steel throughout, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress under frequent use. The 7.5 kW power rating draws a dedicated circuit but delivers consistent, high-output roasting for cuts up to 350 mm in diameter—whole pigs, lambs or large beef joints. The footprint of 1211 × 536 × 635 mm fits a standard worktop or can be trolley-mounted for outdoor events.
Controls are minimal: an on-off switch, a thermostat to set the desired temperature, and a timer to programme the cooking duration. The spit motor runs continuously once started, ensuring even rotation without manual intervention.
Cleaning follows the removable parts: the fat tray slides out for washing, the spit and forks lift off for scrubbing, and the interior chamber wipes down with a damp cloth. The Low-E glass panel can be cleaned with standard glass cleaner without damaging the heat-reflective coating.
The ELBA MAI 300 is a single model with no variants; the supplied spit and forks are the only accessories included.
