| NOTES | Refrigerant gas : R290 |
5 GN 1/1
A refrigerated drop-in module that circulates chilled air across the well surface creates a cold zone directly in the worktop. Fans draw warm air from the food pans, pass it over an evaporator coil, and return it as a curtain of cooled air. This air blade maintains an even temperature across every pan without mechanical contact, reducing energy use while keeping food safely chilled.
The operator slides GN pans into the well, adjusting the bottom panels to match the pan height. Once the pans are in place, the unit is switched on; the fans start immediately, pulling air down through the vents and recirculating it as a chilled curtain. Temperature is set on the control panel and monitored by an internal sensor. When service ends, the pans are removed and the well is cleaned.
The module is built as a stainless-steel frame with a removable well liner. Bottom panels are adjustable in height and can be taken out for cleaning. The evaporator coil sits beneath the well, connected to either a built-in refrigeration unit or a remote system. A refrigerant gas circuit using R290 cools the coil, and the fans distribute the chilled air through vents along the well sides.
Controls include a thermostat to set the temperature between +2 °C and +10 °C. Optional LED lighting can be added to illuminate the well, and tempered-glass sneeze-guards or closed displays are available to suit different service styles.
A power rating of 0.367 kW indicates the load on the electrical circuit; with optional LED lighting, this figure rises. The 230 V supply matches standard UK single-phase circuits. The external footprint of 1821 mm by 747 mm fits most worktop runs, while the well dimensions of 1666 mm by 592 mm accept standard GN pans up to 100 mm deep. A weight of 60 kg allows two people to position the unit without lifting equipment.
Cleaning involves removing the bottom panels and wiping the well liner and vents. The evaporator coil should be checked periodically to ensure airflow is not blocked by dust or grease.
Two main variants are offered: one with built-in refrigeration and one ready for remote connection. Optional accessories include LED lighting, tempered-glass sneeze-guards, closed displays, removable grids, spacers for GN tanks, and compatible remote refrigeration units.
The module is listed in the catalogue under refrigerated drop-in units for professional catering worktops.
