A drain pump removes used wash water from the machine and forces it into the building's waste line. In professional dishwashers and convection ovens, the pump sits at the lowest point of the sump, where it collects water that has passed through the wash cycle. An electric motor spins an impeller, creating a low-pressure zone that draws the water in and then pushes it through the outlet hose. Without this pump, water would pool inside the appliance, halting the cycle and risking overflow onto the kitchen floor.
The operator does not interact with the pump directly during normal use. Once the wash programme ends, the machine's control board sends power to the pump. It runs until the sump is empty, then shuts off automatically. If the pump fails, the machine will not drain and may display an error code or alarm.
This LF drain pump is built as a sealed unit with a plastic housing and a stainless-steel impeller. The housing resists corrosion from detergents and rinse aids, while the impeller's shape balances flow rate and pressure to match the original equipment specification. Electrical connections are made via spade terminals, allowing quick replacement without soldering or crimping.
Fitting is straightforward: disconnect the power, remove the access panel, unclip the old pump, transfer the hose clamps, and secure the new unit in the same position. The pump fits directly into models from AFI, Berto's, Foinox, Hilta, IME Omniwash, Nosem, Oztiryakiler, Sab Italia, So.We.Bo., Sotal, Storme and Unic without modification or adaptor.
Cleaning is limited to the exterior of the housing. After each service visit, wipe the pump with a damp cloth to remove detergent residue and prevent build-up that could interfere with cooling. Do not immerse the unit or spray it with water, as moisture can damage the motor windings.
