A double pole switch isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, cutting power completely to the appliance. This method prevents residual current and ensures safe maintenance or servicing. The switch breaks the circuit on two conductors simultaneously, so no part of the equipment remains energised once the switch is open.
To use the switch, the operator first confirms the appliance is unplugged or the circuit breaker is off. The existing switch is removed, and the new LF unit is wired into the same terminals, matching live to live and neutral to neutral. The green actuator is then pressed to test the mechanism before the appliance is reconnected and powered on. Once installed, the switch acts as the main on-off control for the equipment.
The switch is constructed with a green actuator and a double pole mechanism rated for 16 A at 250 V. It fits a standard cut-out and is secured with a threaded nut.
A 16 A rating means the switch can handle the load of most professional catering appliances without overheating. The 250 V rating matches the standard mains voltage in the UK, so the switch connects directly to the electrical supply without additional transformers or adapters.
The switch is compatible with a wide range of professional catering equipment, including dish warmers, food-service trolleys, coffee machines, grinders, refrigerated cupboards, display cabinets, fryers, grills, juice extractors, pasta cookers, rotisseries and domestic refrigerators from brands such as BLANCO, CARMEN, CASADIO, FAEMA, FB FABA, FRANKE, FRIGINOX, FRISTAR/G, HORECA SELECT, LOTUS, MAKRO-PROFESSIONAL, MCC TRADING INTERNATIONAL, METRO AG, RBE 80, ROLLER GRILL and SCALA.
This switch is listed in the electrical components section of the professional catering equipment catalogue.
