A refrigerated display counter keeps prepared food chilled to safe holding temperatures while allowing customers or staff to view the items through transparent panels. A compressor circulates refrigerant through evaporator coils mounted beneath the worktop. As the refrigerant evaporates, it absorbs heat from the interior, lowering the temperature. A thermostat cycles the compressor on and off to maintain the set point, ensuring food remains within the safe zone without freezing.

The operator loads the counter from the rear or top, arranging items on the two wire grills that span the full width. Each grill rests on adjustable supports, allowing the spacing between shelves to be tailored to the height of the products. Once loaded, the unit is switched on and the temperature mode selected. The internal fan distributes cold air evenly across the shelves, preventing hot spots and ensuring consistent chilling. The glass front and sides provide visibility while the refrigeration system maintains the required temperature without frost build-up on the food.

Controls consist of a thermostat dial that sets the temperature mode, allowing adjustment within the refrigeration range.
