An electric motor drives a set of blades through whole potatoes, turning them into uniform curls, ribbons or shreds without manual effort. The blades rotate against a fixed grid, slicing the potato as it is pushed through. This method gives consistent thickness and shape, which is essential for even cooking and presentation in professional frying or baking.
To operate, the operator selects the desired blade, locks it into place, loads whole potatoes into the feed hopper, and starts the motor. The potatoes are drawn through the blade by the motor's rotation, emerging as ready-to-cook portions. The process repeats until the batch is complete, with no need to stop between potatoes.
The unit is built with a stainless steel casing for durability and hygiene. Four interchangeable blades are included: one for spiral fries, one for spiral fries on a stick, one for ribbon fries, and one for shredded potato curls used in hash browns or potato pancakes. The blades are easily swapped without tools.
Controls consist of a single on/off switch that starts and stops the motor. The 0.96 kW power rating indicates the load on the electrical circuit, requiring a standard 230 V single-phase supply. The compact footprint of 210 mm depth, 530 mm width and 245 mm height allows placement on a worktop or shelf. At 1.3 kg, the cutter is light enough to be moved by one person and stored when not in use.
Cleaning involves removing the blade, rinsing it under running water, and wiping the stainless steel casing with a damp cloth. The motor housing is not waterproof, so it must be kept dry during cleaning. Blades should be dried immediately to prevent corrosion.
The cutter is also suitable for apples and other firm vegetables, expanding its use beyond potatoes.
