A cotton candy machine spins molten sugar into fine threads that wrap around a bowl to form fluffy servings. The X-15 Whirlwind heats granulated sugar with an element while a motor turns a double aluminium spinner head at controlled speed. As the head rotates, centrifugal force pulls the liquid sugar through tiny holes, stretching it into thin strands that cool instantly in the air and collect in the surrounding aluminium bowl.
To operate, the user pours sugar into the spinner head, closes the safety guard, and sets the heating and motor speeds separately using the front-panel regulator. A built-in voltmeter shows the supply voltage, helping the operator match the load to the circuit. Once the head reaches working temperature, the sugar melts and the motor starts; the strands build up in the bowl until the portion is complete. The net included with the 650 mm bowl keeps the candy contained while allowing air to circulate, so each serving stays light and dry.
The casing is stainless steel, chosen for durability and ease of cleaning in a busy catering environment. The double spinner head increases throughput by producing two streams of candy at once, and the separate adjustment of motor and heating lets the operator fine-tune the texture and colour of each batch. The machine stands on a worktop, taking a footprint of 360 mm by 560 mm, and weighs 35 kg, so it can be moved by two people or on a trolley.
A 1.8 kW power rating means the machine draws a steady load that should be supplied by a dedicated 230 V circuit to avoid tripping breakers during peak service. The 650 mm bowl diameter provides ample space for the candy to form without spilling over, and the absence of a cover allows quick access for portioning and cleaning between batches.
After use, the spinner head and bowl are removed and washed in warm water; the stainless steel casing is wiped down with a damp cloth. The aluminium components should be dried immediately to prevent corrosion. The machine is supplied with one aluminium bowl and net; no additional variants are listed for this model.
The X-15 Whirlwind is categorised under dessert equipment in the Neumarker professional catering range.
