A popcorn maker designed for nostalgia brings theatre-style popping to professional kitchens, cafés and event spaces. The machine heats a stainless steel kettle with an electric element. Maize kernels tumble inside the kettle as it heats, and the moisture inside each kernel turns to steam. Pressure builds until the kernel bursts, flipping inside out to form the familiar white flake. Because the kettle is uncoated stainless steel, the heat transfers quickly and evenly, producing consistent results without scorching.
The operator loads maize kernels and oil into the kettle, then starts the heating cycle. A built-in timer controls the three-minute pop, after which the kettle automatically tilts to release the finished popcorn into the serving drawer. A warming base keeps the batch at serving temperature while a lamp above the drawer maintains visibility and presentation. The kettle is removed for cleaning, and the warming base and lamp can be wiped down after each use.
The frame is painted aluminium, chosen for its light weight and resistance to corrosion. Etched glass panels and golden decorative trim create the vintage cinema appearance. The unit stands on two fixed feet at the front and two wheels at the rear, allowing it to be tilted and rolled into position. A separate cart is available but not included.
Controls consist of a power switch, a start button for the popping cycle, and a timer dial that sets the duration. The 230 V, 1.43 kW rating means the machine requires a dedicated circuit capable of handling the load without tripping breakers in a busy kitchen.
The 765 mm width, 575 mm depth and 1145 mm height give the maker a compact footprint that fits on most worktops or counters. At 51 kg, the unit is heavy enough to remain stable during operation but can still be moved by two people when tilted onto its wheels.
Cleaning involves removing the stainless steel kettle, washing it in warm soapy water, and drying it thoroughly before replacing. The warming base and lamp are wiped with a damp cloth, and the glass panels are cleaned with a glass cleaner to preserve the etched design.
The Nostalgia Cinema model is a standalone unit; the optional cart is sold separately under article L-00-51546. It is categorised under professional popcorn equipment in the Neumarker range.
