A control panel governs the wash programme, rinse cycles and safety interlocks of a professional hood-type dishwasher. It houses the switches, indicators and circuitry that translate the operator's settings into signals the machine understands. When the panel is pressed or turned, it closes contacts, sends voltage to the pump, heater and detergent dispenser, and starts the countdown timers that sequence each phase of the wash. The hood's safety microswitch is often wired through the same panel, so the machine will not run unless the hood is properly closed and locked.

To use the panel, the operator first loads the dish rack under the hood, closes the hood fully, and selects the desired programme. The panel's buttons or dials are pressed or turned to the chosen setting, which lights the corresponding indicator. Once the start button is pressed, the panel takes over, activating the wash pump, heating the water to the required temperature, and switching to rinse and drain cycles at the correct intervals. Throughout the cycle, the panel displays progress and any fault codes, allowing the operator to monitor the machine without opening the hood.

This grey ABS panel is moulded in a single piece for strength and resistance to moisture and cleaning chemicals. The surface is smooth and non-porous, so detergent and water do not penetrate, and the legends are either printed beneath a clear coating or embossed into the plastic. The rear of the panel carries the circuit board and wiring harness connectors, which plug directly into the dishwasher's main control module.

The panel measures 313 mm wide by 132 mm high, matching the cut-out in the front of HILTA W13, W14 and W15 models, and IME OMNIWASH SEI2P hood-type dishwashers. It is a direct replacement part, requiring no modification to the machine or its wiring.

Cleaning is limited to wiping the front surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Abrasive pads or solvents must not be used, as they can damage the printed legends or the ABS plastic. The rear connectors and circuit board should be kept dry and free from grease or food debris to prevent short circuits or corrosion.
