A refrigerated buffet plate holds chilled food at serving temperature without electricity by absorbing heat from the container above it. The plate contains a phase-change material that melts at a low temperature, pulling heat out of the food and keeping it cold for hours. Once the material has melted, the plate is recharged in a refrigerator or freezer until it solidifies again, ready for the next service.
Place the GN 1/2 gastronorm container on the plate, ensuring the base makes full contact. The plate remains on the buffet counter or worktop throughout service, absorbing heat from the food above. No power supply or controls are needed; the plate works passively until the phase-change material is exhausted. After service, remove the container and return the plate to a refrigerator or freezer to recharge.
The plate is made of stainless steel with a sealed interior holding the phase-change material. Four rubber feet underneath prevent slipping and protect the worktop surface. The low profile and compact footprint allow it to fit on standard buffet counters or under existing display equipment.
The dimensions of 325 x 265 x 46 mm match the GN 1/2 container size, ensuring full contact for efficient cooling. The weight of 2.05 kg makes the plate easy to move between the refrigerator and the buffet counter without strain. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion and is simple to clean after use.
Clean the plate by wiping the surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the stainless steel finish. After cleaning, return the plate to a refrigerator or freezer to recharge the phase-change material for the next use.
The Casselin CPBRE12 is designed for GN 1/2 gastronorm containers, fitting standard buffet and catering equipment.
