A boiler temperature sensor monitors the water temperature inside the heating tank of a commercial dishwasher or glasswasher. The sensor sends a continuous signal to the machine's control board, allowing it to regulate the heating element. When the water reaches the set temperature, the element switches off; if the water cools, the element reignites. This feedback loop keeps the wash cycle at the correct temperature for sanitising dishes and glassware without overheating or wasting energy.
The operator does not interact directly with the sensor. Once installed, it works automatically during every programme. The dishwasher fills the boiler, the element heats the water, and the sensor measures the rise. When the target temperature is reached, the wash pump circulates the hot water through the spray arms. The sensor remains in place throughout the cycle, ensuring the water stays within the programmed range for the duration of the wash and rinse phases.
This sensor is a direct replacement for the original part in specified IME and OMNIWASH models. It fits inside the boiler housing, secured by a threaded connection or a clip, depending on the machine's construction. The wiring harness connects to the main control board, completing the circuit that carries the temperature reading.
Installation requires isolating the machine from the power supply and draining the boiler. The old sensor is removed, and the new one is fitted in the same position. The wiring is reconnected, and the machine is tested to confirm the sensor is sending accurate readings before resuming normal operation.
The sensor is compatible with IME OMNIWASH dishwashers in the 5000EVO and MAGIC series, and with glasswashers and cupwashers in the 3500ST to 4100ST range. It is listed under spare parts for warewashing equipment in the commercial dishwasher section of the catalogue.
