A boiler-group pipe carries hot water from the heat exchanger to the brew group in a traditional espresso machine. The pipe is pressurised while the machine is running, so it must be precisely formed to the original dimensions and sealed at both ends to prevent leaks under pressure.
On Faema machines with the E61 group head, the pipe connects the boiler to the group solenoid and then to the dispersion screen. The operator turns the brew lever, opening the solenoid and allowing hot water to flow through the pipe and into the portafilter. The pipe's internal diameter and smooth bore ensure consistent flow rate and temperature stability during extraction.
To replace the pipe, the machine must be switched off and cooled. The group cover and dispersion screen are removed, exposing the old pipe. The new pipe is seated into the group solenoid and secured with the original fittings. The dispersion screen and cover are reinstalled, and the machine is tested for leaks before returning to service.
The pipe is manufactured by LF to match the original Faema specifications for the E61, E64, E66, NOSTOP, P4, P6 and STAR models. It fits directly without modification or additional adapters.
Cleaning is limited to external wiping with a damp cloth; the internal bore should not be scrubbed or flushed, as this can damage the surface and affect flow characteristics.
