A control knob gives the operator a firm grip on the slicer's blade-adjustment shaft. The knob turns a threaded rod that moves the carriage closer to or farther from the blade, setting the thickness of each slice. Because the shaft is under constant spring tension, the knob must lock securely and resist accidental rotation while the machine is running.

To use the knob, align its central hole with the exposed end of the slicer's adjustment shaft. Push the knob straight on until the pin seats fully in the shaft's socket. Turn the knob clockwise to reduce slice thickness or anticlockwise to increase it. Once the desired setting is reached, the knob's internal friction holds the position without further locking.

The knob is moulded in black polymer for a non-slip surface and is sized to fit adult fingers comfortably. A 6 mm stainless-steel pin pressed into the hub provides the mechanical connection to the shaft. The M6 thread pitch matches the standardised adjustment mechanism used across the SIRMAN slicer range.

The 26 mm diameter and 77 mm overall length give enough leverage to turn the shaft smoothly, even when the slicer is under load. The black colour helps the knob stand out against the stainless-steel front panel, making it easy to locate quickly during operation.

Cleaning is limited to wiping the knob with a damp cloth; the polymer resists oils and cleaning agents used in professional kitchens. Avoid immersing the knob, as water ingress can corrode the internal pin.
