2 GN1/1
A thermic trolley keeps hot food at serving temperature while it is moved from the kitchen to the dining area or buffet. The ROCAM TORO 2GN1/1 uses a bain marie principle: an electric element heats water in a sealed jacket between the inner and outer walls of the wells. The water transfers heat evenly to the GN containers above, preventing hot spots and drying. A mechanical thermostat cycles the element to hold the chosen temperature between +30 °C and +90 °C, while an indicator light shows the unit is active.
Load the trolley by sliding two GN 1/1 gastronorm trays into the upper wells. Set the thermostat within the +30 °C to +90 °C range and switch on. The upper lids can be flipped back 180° to form a temporary worktop; the lower doors open 270° for full access. When the food is ready to move, the trolley rolls on two braked castors and two fixed castors, with non-marking bumpers protecting walls and furniture.
The frame and wells are stainless steel throughout, chosen for corrosion resistance and hygiene. The double-walled wells are insulated to reduce heat loss. Four non-marking bumpers and two castors with brakes are fitted as standard. Optional extras include a heating element for the lower cupboard (RTOR), a stainless-steel middle shelf (PTOR), and separators for 1GN 1/1 (530 mm) or 1GN 1/2 (324 mm) containers.
The 1.5 kW power rating means the trolley draws a modest load on a standard 230 V single-phase circuit, suitable for most professional kitchens. Its 58 kg weight indicates a sturdy construction that can be manoeuvred by one person when empty. The 1010 mm height allows comfortable access without stooping, while the 688 mm width fits through standard doorways. The +30 °C to +90 °C temperature range covers holding for most hot dishes, from delicate sauces to roasted meats.
Cleaning is straightforward: remove the GN trays, wipe the stainless-steel wells and frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry to prevent water marks. The mechanical thermostat and indicator light require no calibration, but the element and water jacket should be inspected periodically for scale build-up if hard water is used.
The trolley is supplied with a UK-type G plug. Optional accessories can be ordered to tailor the unit to specific workflows: heating for the lower compartment, an additional shelf, or dividers for smaller GN containers.
