A water pipe carries chilled water from the freezer's internal reservoir to the dispenser or ice-making unit. In an upright freezer of this type, the pipe is routed behind the inner liner, keeping it insulated from ambient air so the water stays cold until it reaches the tap or ice mould. The flow is gravity-fed or lightly pressurised by the reservoir's height, so the pipe must remain unobstructed and correctly aligned to prevent leaks or slow dispensing.

To replace the pipe, the operator first disconnects the freezer from the power supply. The back panel or top cover is removed to expose the existing pipe, which is then unclipped or unscrewed from its mounting points. The new pipe is threaded through the same channels, ensuring the fittings align with the reservoir outlet and dispenser inlet. Once secured, the cover is refitted and the freezer is reconnected to verify water flow.
