An automatic water faucet removes the need to touch a tap handle, reducing cross-contamination in busy kitchens and bars. A sensor detects movement beneath the spout and opens a solenoid valve, allowing mains-pressure water to flow. When the hands move away, the valve closes automatically, stopping the water without manual intervention. This method ensures consistent hygiene and prevents accidental flooding if the tap is left running.

The operator simply places hands or a container under the spout; the sensor triggers the flow within a fraction of a second. No knobs or levers are turned, so the process remains hands-free from start to finish. The flow continues as long as the sensor detects activity, then shuts off when the area is clear, conserving water during brief pauses.

Constructed in a single compact unit, the faucet stands 370 mm high, allowing it to fit beneath standard overhead cupboards or bar shelves. Its design integrates the sensor, valve and spout in one streamlined body, minimising the space it occupies on the worktop or bar surface.

The 370 mm height determines the clearance needed above the sink or basin; it also influences the reach of the water stream, ensuring it lands within the bowl rather than splashing the surrounding area. A unit of this size is easily positioned on most domestic or commercial sinks without requiring structural alterations.

Cleaning follows from the materials and construction: the exterior surfaces can be wiped with a damp cloth to remove water spots or fingerprints, while the sensor window requires occasional dusting to maintain reliable detection. No disassembly is needed for routine upkeep, as the internal valve and electronics are sealed against moisture and grease.
