Channeled vacuum bags. Box - 1800 pcs
Vacuum sealing removes air from a bag before sealing, slowing oxidation and spoilage. The channeled design of these ORVED bags creates a network of tiny air passages across the inner surface. When a vacuum pump draws air out, the passages prevent the bag from collapsing flat against the food, ensuring even suction and a secure seal around irregular shapes like cuts of meat, dried herbs or baked goods.
To use, place the food inside the bag, leaving enough space at the open end for the vacuum sealer to grip. Lower the sealer's lid, select the appropriate programme for solid or dry items, and start the cycle. The machine evacuates the air through the channels, then heat-seals the open edge. Once sealed, the bag can be stored in a refrigerator, freezer or dry cupboard without risk of freezer burn or moisture loss.
The bags are made from food-grade plastic film with a rhomboidal embossing pattern pressed into one side. This pattern is not decorative; it maintains the channels that allow air to be drawn out evenly. The thickness of the film balances puncture resistance with flexibility, so the bag conforms to the shape of the food without tearing.
Each bag measures 180 mm wide by 300 mm long, giving enough room for portion-sized cuts of meat, whole fish, or bulk dry goods like coffee or grains. A single box contains 1800 bags, organised for quick access during service.
The channeled construction means these bags are not suitable for liquids or foods with high moisture content, as the channels can trap liquid and prevent a proper seal. They are designed for solid and dry products only, where the extended shelf life reduces waste and maintains texture and flavour.
Cleaning is not required for the bags themselves, as they are single-use. The vacuum sealer's chamber and sealing bar should be wiped down after each use to remove any food debris or moisture that could interfere with future seals.
