Thermal packing machine 60 mc/h
A vacuum packing machine that switches between Skin and Combi modes without tools, the ORVED VGP CombiSkin is the only unit on the market to combine both processes in a single chamber. Skin packing wraps food in a second-skin film that clings tightly to contours, removing air while preserving texture and presentation. Combi mode, or modified-atmosphere packing, replaces air with a controlled gas mix to extend shelf life without altering the product's appearance. The machine performs both by swapping sealing groups and reconfiguring the chamber interior.
The process begins with loading the product into a mould or tray. In Skin mode, the film is heated until pliable, then drawn down by vacuum to form a tight seal around the food. The chamber's lower section holds the mould support system, which secures trays during the cycle. In Combi mode, the lower support is removed, and the sealing group is reattached to the upper chamber. Gas is introduced before the final seal, creating the modified atmosphere. Switching between modes requires only disconnecting and reconnecting the electrical and compressed-air lines, with no tools needed for the tray support system.
Operation follows a set sequence: place the tray in the chamber, select the programme, and start the cycle. The machine draws vacuum, applies heat or gas as selected, and seals the film. The operator monitors the process through the transparent lid and removes the packed product once the cycle completes. The controls allow adjustment of vacuum level, sealing time, and gas mix where applicable.
The VGP CombiSkin is constructed from stainless steel, with a chamber large enough to accommodate the supplied standard moulds: one B6 (177 x 235 mm), one D15 (172 x 242 mm), two B5 (128 x 215 mm), two D2 (136 x 178 mm), and two D13 (147 x 221 mm). The 2.9 kW power rating reflects the load on a 400 V three-phase circuit, typical for professional kitchen equipment. The 178 kg weight requires a stable worktop or floor mounting, and the 597 x 769 x 1158 mm footprint demands dedicated space in a packing area.
Cleaning involves wiping the chamber and sealing group after each use to remove film residue and food particles. The tray support system and moulds are removable for thorough washing. The machine is supplied with one mould and one sealing group; additional moulds or sealing groups must be specified at the time of order.
The VGP CombiSkin is categorised under professional vacuum packing equipment, designed for commercial kitchens, food production, and catering operations requiring both Skin and modified-atmosphere packing.
