Thermal packing machine 60 mc/h
A thermal packing machine creates an airtight seal around food by heating a film that shrinks tightly over the product, forming a second skin. The process starts with a vacuum that removes air from the chamber, then the film is heated until it softens and adheres to the food and the tray beneath it. This method locks in moisture, prevents oxidation and gives the package a smooth, glossy finish that enhances presentation while extending shelf life. The SKIN effect goes further: the film conforms to every contour of the product, eliminating air pockets and preserving the original shape without crushing delicate items like fillets or pastries.
The operator loads a tray into the chamber, places the product on it, and selects one of five modes on the control panel. For standard SKIN packaging, the machine evacuates the chamber, heats the film and seals it around the tray. If modified atmosphere or gas flushing is chosen, the chamber is first filled with a protective gas before sealing. Once the cycle completes, the film is cut automatically, leaving a clean edge around the tray. The sensory vacuum system monitors the process and adjusts the vacuum level to suit the product, whether solid, liquid or soft.
The VGP60SKIN is built entirely of stainless steel, including the chamber, frame and exterior panels. The machine comes with a set of standard moulds: one B6 (177 x 235 mm), one D15 (172 x 242 mm), two B5 (128 x 215 mm), two D2 (136 x 178 mm) and two D13 (147 x 221 mm). These moulds determine the tray sizes the machine accepts and the shape of the final package. The film is cut up to 15 mm beyond the edge of the tray, ensuring the product retains its original form without distortion.
Controls include mode selection for leather packaging, leather with gas, vacuum, modified atmosphere and print-only functions. Each mode adjusts the vacuum level, gas flow and heating cycle to match the chosen process. The 2.9 kW power rating indicates the load on the electrical supply, requiring a 400 V three-phase circuit with 50/60 Hz frequency. The 178 kg weight means the unit is moved with a pallet truck or forklift, and the 497 x 769 x 1158 mm footprint defines the space it occupies on the worktop or floor.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and removing any film residue from the sealing area. The sensory vacuum system and heating elements require no regular maintenance beyond keeping the chamber free of debris. The machine is supplied with one template; additional moulds, polypropylene film rolls (340 mm width, 200 m length) and tray sets can be ordered separately. The B5 set includes one roll of VST280 film and 912 trays measuring 229 x 143 mm, while the B6 set includes one film roll and 931 trays measuring 180 x 250 mm.
The VGP60SKIN is categorised under thermal packing equipment in the professional catering catalogue.
