Thermal packing machine 25 mc/h
A thermal packing machine seals food in Gastronorm trays by removing air and replacing it with inert gas, creating a modified atmosphere that extends shelf life and preserves freshness. The process relies on a vacuum chamber that draws out nearly all the air, then flushes the tray with nitrogen or another gas before sealing the film tightly over the rim. This method prevents oxidation, slows bacterial growth and keeps liquids from spilling, making it suitable for both solid and liquid products.
The operator places a filled Gastronorm tray on the work surface, selects one of ten pre-set programmes on the digital panel, and closes the lid. The machine automatically evacuates the air, injects the chosen gas mixture, and seals the film. Once the cycle finishes, the lid opens and the sealed tray is ready for storage or transport. The absolute vacuum sensor ensures consistent results regardless of tray size or product type.
Construction is entirely stainless steel, designed for easy cleaning and compliance with food-safety standards. Standard moulds are supplied for one ½ Gastronorm tray (325 × 260 mm), two ¼ Gastronorm trays (160 × 260 mm) or four 1⁄8 Gastronorm trays (165 × 120 mm); additional moulds can be ordered separately. The machine requires no compressed air, using a patented vacuum system that simplifies installation and reduces maintenance.
The digital panel controls vacuum level, gas flush percentage and sealing time. Each of the ten programmes can be tailored to the product, allowing the same unit to handle everything from delicate liquids to bulky solids without risk of crushing or spillage.
A power rating of 2.85 kW indicates the load on the electrical circuit; the machine runs on a standard 220–240 V single-phase supply found in most professional kitchens. The footprint of 497 × 769 mm fits on a worktop or mobile stand, while a weight of 131 kg means it is moved with a trolley rather than carried by hand. The height of 1158 mm allows comfortable operation while standing.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel surfaces with a damp cloth and food-safe sanitiser. The film roll and moulds are removed for separate cleaning, and the vacuum chamber is accessible for thorough daily maintenance. No special tools are required, and the absence of a compressor eliminates a common source of dust and oil contamination.
Variants are available with different mould sets to match specific tray sizes beyond the standard Gastronorm configurations.
The VGP25 is listed in the ORVED catalogue under tray-sealing and modified-atmosphere packaging equipment.
