A sturdy underframe that raises a professional worktop to a comfortable working height without permanent fixing to the floor. The base stands on four adjustable feet, allowing the operator to level the surface on uneven floors and to fine-tune the height for tasks that range from chopping to plating.

The base is assembled from a central column, a cross-shaped foot and a top mounting plate. Each part is cut and formed before being joined with screws, so the unit arrives in a flat pack that can be carried through standard doorways and assembled in place. The feet screw in and out, compensating for floor irregularities and preventing wobble on quarry tiles or concrete slabs.

Assembly begins with the cross-shaped foot, which spreads the load across a wide footprint. The central column is bolted to the foot, then the top mounting plate is fixed to the column. Four adjustment feet are screwed into the ends of the cross, and the entire base is lifted and levelled. The worktop is placed on the mounting plate and secured with screws that are not supplied with the base.

The column and foot are made from AISI 201 stainless steel, a brushed finish that resists fingerprints and minor scratches. The top mounting plate is black painted steel, providing a contrasting surface that helps to locate the worktop during fitting. The base is designed to support worktops up to 900 mm deep and 1400 mm wide, giving a generous work surface for prep, plating or holding equipment.

The mounting plate measures 400 x 800 mm, so it fits beneath most commercial worktops without overhang. The overall height of 730 mm is standard for kitchen worktops, placing the surface at a comfortable height for standing tasks. The base weighs 21 kg, light enough for two people to move but heavy enough to stay in place during vigorous use.

Cleaning is straightforward: the stainless steel surfaces can be wiped with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, while the painted mounting plate is protected by the worktop above it. The adjustment feet should be checked periodically to ensure they remain tight and level.

An optional taller version is available for kitchens that require a higher work surface.
