A floor-mounted table base provides a stable, freestanding support for professional catering worktops up to 800 mm square. The unit stands on a single central column that raises the work surface to a comfortable working height, clearing floor space beneath for cleaning and storage while keeping the top within easy reach of the chef.
The base is anchored directly to the kitchen floor with screws, preventing movement under load and absorbing the lateral forces of chopping, stirring and plating. A wide, flat mounting plate at the top of the column spreads the weight of the tabletop and its contents evenly across the column, reducing stress on the joint and extending the life of the assembly.
Assembly is carried out on site: the base, column and mounting plate are bolted together with the supplied hardware, then the completed unit is screwed to the floor. The tabletop is placed on the mounting plate and secured with separate screws, which are not included in the set. This two-stage fixing allows the base to be installed first, then the top added once the kitchen layout is finalised.
The column and base are made from brushed AISI 201 stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and staining in a busy kitchen. The mounting plate is black painted steel, providing a contrasting surface that helps to locate the tabletop during fitting. All parts are supplied in a flat pack for easy transport and storage before assembly.
The base is adjustable in height for an additional charge, allowing the same unit to be used in different areas of the kitchen or to match existing work surfaces.
The footprint of the base is 175 mm in diameter, taking minimal floor space while still providing a secure anchor. The 5 kg weight keeps the unit light enough to manoeuvre into position before fixing, yet heavy enough to remain stable once assembled. The 250 x 250 mm mounting plate gives a secure platform for tabletops up to 800 x 800 mm, accommodating most standard catering work surfaces.
Cleaning is straightforward: the brushed stainless steel surface resists fingerprints and water marks, and can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The black painted steel plate should be cleaned with a mild detergent to avoid damaging the finish. Regular checks of the floor screws and column bolts ensure the base remains secure under daily use.
