A back support is the structural bracket that holds the rear panel of a refrigeration unit square to the frame. On upright models the panel carries the condenser coil and compressor; on under-counter units it often forms the rear wall of the storage compartment. The right-hand support is shaped to match the specific cut-outs and fixing points on that side of the cabinet, ensuring the panel sits flush and the door seals correctly.
The bracket is fixed with screws through pre-drilled holes. Once in place it transfers the weight of the panel and any internal components to the main chassis, preventing sag and vibration that could loosen pipework or damage insulation. Because it is load-bearing, the support must be made from material thick enough to resist bending under the combined weight of the panel, condenser and any accumulated ice or dust.
Fitting the support is a two-person job: one operator holds the panel in position while the other aligns the bracket and starts the screws. The sequence is the same for every make the part fits: remove the old bracket, clean the mating surfaces, offer up the new support, insert and tighten the screws in a diagonal pattern to distribute load evenly. Once secured, the panel should not rock or tilt when gentle pressure is applied.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the bracket with a damp cloth to remove dust; no detergents or abrasives are needed. If the unit is moved, the support should be checked for tightness before power is restored.
This is the right-hand variant of the back support. It is a direct replacement for the original part on compatible Tefcold refrigeration units.
