This refrigerated drop-in display cabinet maintains chilled food visibility while preserving the cold chain. Static cooling uses natural air circulation, reducing the risk of mechanical failure and maintenance needs. The evaporator coil removes heat from inside the unit, sustaining a consistent low temperature that extends freshness with lower energy use than forced-air alternatives.
Designed to integrate into a worktop cut-out, the MI-8 displays chilled items at counter level. It accommodates up to eight GN1/3 gastronorm trays, loaded from the top. An electronic controller keeps the interior between +2 °C and +6 °C. LED lighting activates automatically, providing uniform illumination to enhance product appearance without generating excess heat. The hinged tempered-glass front opens for easy restocking or cleaning, then seals to retain cold air.
The static-cooling system relies on an evaporator coil filled with R600a refrigerant. Tempered glass on the front and sides ensures durability against impacts and temperature changes while offering clear visibility. Both the interior liner and exterior casing are stainless steel, selected for hygiene and resilience in high-traffic kitchens. An electronic sensor tracks temperature continuously, adjusting cooling to account for ambient conditions and door use.
With a width of 1540 mm, the cabinet aligns with standard worktop dimensions, allowing seamless installation alongside other equipment. A 230 V single-phase supply powers the compressor and lighting. The unit draws 180 W for cooling and 95 W for electronics and lighting. Cleaning is straightforward: the hinged glass front can be removed for wiping, and the stainless-steel interior and tray runners can be sanitised without disassembly. The evaporator coil requires occasional defrosting, made simpler by the drop-in design's top-access layout.
The MI-8 is available as a single model without variants, listed under professional catering refrigerated display cabinets.
