A planetary mixer combines a fixed bowl with a beater that revolves on its own axis while orbiting the bowl. This dual motion pulls every part of the mixture into the path of the beater, folding, stretching and aerating the contents evenly without manual scraping. The method is essential for heavy doughs, batters and creams that must stay uniform through large batches.
The operator loads the ingredients into the 160 L bowl, attaches the required beater—hook, whisk or paddle—and selects the speed with the inverter control. The inverter adjusts the motor smoothly across the full range, letting the operator start at low speed to incorporate dry ingredients and then increase to the required consistency. Once the cycle finishes, the bowl is removed for further processing or portioning.
The BULL160 is built on a welded steel frame clad in stainless steel panels. The 6 kW motor drives the beater through a gearbox that reduces speed and multiplies torque, allowing the unit to handle stiff doughs without stalling. A 400 V 3-phase supply is required, matching the circuit used by most professional kitchens for heavy equipment. The footprint of 920 mm by 1200 mm fits a standard worktop or floor space, while the 2200 mm height clears most overhead cupboards and extraction hoods. The 808 kg weight means the mixer is moved on castors or a pallet truck, not lifted by hand.
Cleaning follows the exposed parts: the bowl, beater and splash guard are removed and washed separately. The stainless steel surfaces around the bowl and the control panel are wiped down with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. The inverter and motor housing are not opened; any service is carried out by a qualified electrician.
The BULL160 is placed in the catalogue under Heavy-Duty Mixers, alongside other planetary mixers of similar capacity.
