The perfect combination of elegance and functionality
A percolator brews coffee by cycling boiling water through a bed of coarsely ground beans. The heating element at the base brings the water to a controlled temperature, forcing it up a central tube and over the grounds in the filter basket. Gravity returns the infused liquid to the reservoir, repeating the cycle until the coffee reaches the desired strength. This continuous circulation extracts flavour without over-extraction, producing a consistent, full-bodied brew suitable for large volumes.
To operate, fill the reservoir with cold water to the glass level indicator, add coarse-ground coffee to the filter basket, and place the basket inside the body. Set the thermostat to the required temperature between 30 °C and 100 °C; the indicator light confirms the unit is heating. Once brewing begins, the water circulates automatically. The non-drip tap allows portioning without spillage, while the magnetic drip tray collects any residual drips for easy removal. If the unit overheats, the reset button restores normal operation, and a warning light signals when descaling is needed.
The body is made of stainless steel, chosen for heat retention and corrosion resistance. Stylish polypropylene handles remain cool to the touch during use. A glass water level indicator shows the remaining volume at a glance. The drip tray attaches magnetically, simplifying cleaning between batches. The filter basket is sized for coarsely ground coffee, preventing clogging and ensuring even extraction.
The 7 litre volume allows brewing for large groups without refilling, while the 1.05 kW power rating draws a modest load suitable for standard 220–240 V circuits found in professional kitchens. The 2.93 kg weight makes the unit easy to move between worktops or storage cupboards. The 307 mm width, 330 mm depth and 450 mm height fit under most overhead cupboards, and the maximum container height of 100 mm accommodates standard catering urns for serving.
Cleaning involves removing the filter basket and drip tray, wiping the interior with a damp cloth, and descaling when the warning light indicates. The non-drip tap and magnetic drip tray reduce spillage, minimising the time spent on upkeep. The polypropylene handles and glass level indicator require only a wipe-down after use.
The adjustable thermostat allows the percolator to be used for keeping coffee warm after brewing, extending its use beyond the initial preparation. The reset button and overheating warning light provide safety features that protect the unit during extended operation in busy kitchens.
