Double walled percolator
A percolator brews coffee by cycling boiling water through coffee grounds repeatedly. The base heats the water until it rises through a central tube, sprays over the grounds in the basket, and drips back down, extracting flavour each time. This continuous circulation produces a strong, aromatic brew without the need for paper filters or separate heating elements.
To use the HENDI 6 Litre percolator, fill the tank with cold water up to the marked level, add coarse coffee grounds to the basket, and place the basket inside. Plug the unit into a 230 V supply, switch it on, and allow the water to heat and begin cycling. Once brewing starts, the coffee strengthens gradually; the operator can sample from the spout to judge readiness. When the desired strength is reached, switch off the percolator and remove the basket to stop extraction.
The construction is double-walled, polished stainless steel throughout, including the body and tank. This insulation reduces heat loss by blocking conduction through the metal, convection of air around it, and radiation from the surface. Stainless steel handles with silicone grips remain cool to touch, and an anti-fouling coating inside the tank resists mineral build-up. A drip tray with a stainless steel grid catches any overflow and keeps the worktop clean.
The 1.5 kW power rating draws a moderate load on a standard 230 V circuit, suitable for most professional kitchens without requiring a dedicated supply. The 6 litre volume produces enough coffee for a service period without constant refilling, while the 4.23 kg weight allows the unit to be moved between stations or stored when not in use. The footprint of 316 by 350 mm fits on a standard worktop or counter, leaving space for cups and condiments.
Cleaning involves rinsing the tank and basket after each use to prevent residue. The anti-fouling coating reduces the frequency of descaling, but periodic cleaning with a mild descaling agent is still needed to maintain performance. The drip tray and grid are removable for washing, and the silicone grips wipe clean with a damp cloth.
This percolator is a single model without variants. It is listed in the catalogue under commercial coffee equipment.
